“Flipio”, “we”, “us” means the operator of the Flipio platform.

“Host” means a user who lists a vehicle for rent.

“Renter” means a user who books a vehicle.

“Booking” means a confirmed rental agreement between Host and Renter facilitated through Flipio.

“Platform Fee” means Flipio’s commission (currently 7% of the rental subtotal, payable by the Host unless otherwise stated at checkout).

“South” and “North” refer to the two operational regions within Cyprus, each with distinct currency and regulatory context.

Flipio is a technology marketplace that connects Hosts and Renters. Flipio is not a car rental company, insurer, travel agent, or payment institution.

The rental contract is directly between Host and Renter. Flipio does not own, control, inspect, or guarantee any vehicle, and is not a party to the rental agreement.

Flipio does not guarantee availability, condition, legality, insurance coverage, or fitness of any vehicle or user.

You must be at least 21 years old (or the minimum age required by local law and the Host) and hold a valid driving licence recognised in the rental region.

You must provide accurate registration information and complete identity verification before your first booking.

Business Hosts must have authority to bind their company and comply with applicable commercial licensing requirements.

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.

Flipio may require phone verification, identity documents, and admin review before granting full platform access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, fail verification, or breach these Terms.

Hosts must own the vehicle or have legal authority to rent it, maintain valid registration, road tax, and insurance as required by law in the rental region.

Listings must accurately describe the vehicle (make, model, year, condition, mileage limits, fuel, transmission, extras, and accepted payment methods).

Hosts must not list vehicles that are unsafe, uninsured where insurance is mandatory, or intended for illegal use.

Hosts must honour confirmed bookings, provide the vehicle in the agreed condition, and comply with pickup/return arrangements coordinated through Flipio chat.

Hosts pay the Platform Fee to unlock Renter contact details and activate the booking chat, as displayed at checkout.

Renters must use the vehicle lawfully, within mileage and cross-border limits stated on the listing, and return it on time and in comparable condition (fair wear excepted).

Renters must hold a valid licence and meet any age or deposit requirements set by the Host or Flipio.

For cash rentals, Renters may be required to pay a security deposit online before the booking is confirmed.

Renters must not sublet, race, use off-road (unless permitted), or operate under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Flipio may collect the full rental amount or applicable fees on behalf of the Host where Stripe Connect is enabled.

For cash rentals: the Renter pays any required deposit online; the Host pays the Platform Fee online; the remaining rental balance is paid in cash at pickup unless card payment was selected.

All platform fees are non-refundable once the booking is confirmed, except where required by law or explicitly stated in our refund policy.

Flipio is not responsible for currency conversion, bank charges, or disputes over cash payments between Host and Renter.

Chargebacks initiated without good faith may result in account suspension.

All booking-related communication must take place through Flipio’s in-platform chat after the booking is confirmed.

Users must not share phone numbers, email addresses, messenger handles, or external links in listings or chat to circumvent the platform.

WhatsApp or SMS may be used by Flipio solely to send transactional notifications (booking updates, reminders). Flipio does not facilitate off-platform messaging between users.

Violation of the communication policy may result in content removal, booking cancellation, or permanent account termination.

User-generated content (listings, descriptions, chat messages, reviews) is automatically filtered for prohibited content including contact details, advertisements, off-platform deals, and illegal offers.

Flipio may edit, reject, or remove content without notice. Repeated violations result in account restrictions.

Listing descriptions may only contain factual information about the vehicle and rental rules. Promotional content for other services is prohibited.

Pickup location is shown approximately on the map by city/area — exact street addresses must not be published before booking confirmation.

Fraud, impersonation, money laundering, or misrepresentation.

Circumventing Flipio fees or directing users to transact off-platform.

Harassment, hate speech, threats, or discriminatory behaviour.

Listing stolen vehicles, vehicles without proper insurance, or services unrelated to car rental.

Scraping, reverse engineering, or automated access to the platform without written consent.

Any activity that violates applicable law in South or North Cyprus.

Users must select the correct region. Cross-region bookings may be restricted by listing settings and local law.

South Cyprus listings typically operate in EUR; North Cyprus listings may operate in TRY. Prices and insurance requirements differ by region.

Users are solely responsible for compliance with border crossing rules, insurance validity, and local traffic regulations in their chosen region.

Flipio makes no representation that a vehicle or insurance policy is valid in both regions unless explicitly stated on the listing.

Hosts and Renters are responsible for maintaining adequate insurance and reporting accidents in accordance with local law.

Any damage, theft, fines, tolls, or penalties during the rental period are primarily between Host and Renter unless Flipio expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Flipio may, at its discretion, assist with dispute communication but has no obligation to mediate, adjudicate, or compensate for vehicle damage.

Cancellation terms are displayed at booking and may depend on payment method, booking status, and Host settings (including instant book).

Deposits and platform fees may be forfeited on late cancellation or no-show as stated at checkout.

Refunds for card payments are processed through Stripe to the original payment method where applicable.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLIPIO AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.

FLIPIO’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE PLATFORM FEES YOU PAID TO FLIPIO IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) EUR 100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Flipio from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your listings, your rentals, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably by contacting support@getflipio.com. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nicosia, Cyprus, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country requires otherwise.

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on the platform with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms or for operational, legal, or security reasons.

Each confirmed booking creates a direct rental relationship between Host and Renter. Flipio is not a party to that agreement.

Renters acknowledge that vehicle condition, insurance validity, and roadworthiness are the Host's responsibility.

Hosts acknowledge that Renter identity verification does not eliminate all fraud risk and that Hosts must exercise reasonable care at handover.

By booking or listing, users consent to Flipio storing legal acceptance timestamps and document metadata for compliance and dispute resolution.

Flipio may suspend users, withhold payouts, or report activity to authorities where required by law or to protect other users.

Users must not use the platform for money laundering, stolen vehicles, or uninsured commercial operations without disclosure.

Flipio encourages users to inspect vehicles at pickup, document condition with photos, and report safety concerns immediately.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
